Shooting Creek School
Shooting Creek School was a two-story schoolhouse for white students in southwestern Franklin County, near the Floyd County line. It was a Presbyterian mission school. The first floor consisted of two large classrooms. The second floor contained a kitchen and bedrooms. Grades 1-11 were taught here. Students from the surrounding hills would board at the school for six weeks at a time.
