Junta School / Tyree School
Junta School, also known as Tyree School, was a one-room schoolhouse for black students in the Blackwater district of Franklin County. The school was built with a stone foundation, and it was heated with a stove. It did not have electricity, running water, or indoor restrooms. William Moore, J.C. Toles, and Emma W. Sheffey were teachers at the school.
