Ferguson / Six Mile Post School

Ferguson School, also known as Six Mile Post School, was a one-room schoolhouse for white students in the Blackwater district of Franklin County. The school was built with a stone foundation, and it was heated with a stove. It did not have electricity, running water, or indoor restrooms. Myrtle Bowman and Lucille Ikenberry were teachers at the school.
