Cook’s Knob
Cook’s Knob School was a one-room schoolhouse for black students located in the Blackwater district of Franklin County. The school was built with a stone foundation, and it was heated with a stove. It did not have electricity, running water, or indoor restrooms. Chappie Goode and William A. Bond were teachers at the school.
