Cole’s Creek School

Cole’s Creek School was a one-room schoolhouse for black students located in the Blackwater district of Franklin County. The school was built on a stone foundation, and it was heated with a stove. It did not have electricity, running water, or indoor restrooms. Laura Felton and Willie May Hayes were teachers at the school.
